MIM a-la- cart

Hello! Happy New Year's Eve.  I had a few minutes before our friends arrive for a fun night of cards, kids both have friends over, house is spotless(yeah) , so I took advantage and crafted a bit. Playing along with previous challenge #317 outlined images. I created 2 cards for this challenge as I couldn't decide which way I wanted the card. I prefer the top one, I think the darker cardstock stands out a bit more. Thanks for popping by today.

CC&S #302

Hello! I'm stopping in with a quick share for this week's sketch challenge. This week we've asked you to re-visit a previous sketch from this year and make it a seasonal card. I chose challenge #300. It seemed like a good one for falling snow. I die cut various size snowflakes and a sentiment lightly misted them with some perfect pearls water and lightly inked the paper to help them stand out more. This one would be great to mass produce. This has been a fun year of color and sketch challenges, looking forward to the next years challenges. We will be taking a short break to enjoy the holidays, so Merry Christmas to you all and see you in 2019.

The Holly and Ivy #42

Hello! Here we are in December, who's got their cards out ? Not me. I have plenty done, but I signed up for a last minute craft show this weekend. So I will send out my cards from what I don't sell this weekend or I'll spend all day Sunday making more to send out. This is one I mass produced for the previous shows and it has proved to be a good seller. The stamp is from the Ton stamps. Anyone else stalk Effie's videos on you tube? Her coloring skills are fabulous. As always the challenge is an anything goes..so play along . Thanks for stopping by today.

CC&S #301

Hello! I'm sharing my card for this week's color challenge. We've asked you to re-visit our previous color challenges and make one a seasonal card. Mine is from challenge #288, I hosted that challenge and truth be told and made both cards at the same time. I wasn't happy with the background panel when  I made it for the witch card, it wasn't spooky feeling to me. So I made it a Christmas card and saved it for this challenge. It was great to be prepared early. I can't wait to see what color combos everyone picks, should be interesting. Thanks for stopping by.

CC&S #300

Hello! Welcome to our 300th challenge! I'm excited to be a part of it. This is my 2nd year as part of this DT and I really feel I've grown as a cardmaker since joining. I now push myself out of my comfort zone. Sometimes projects end up in the trash , but I keep trying. I really had fun with this card. I wanted to create a fun birthday card for our birthday challenge. I used the birthday ballons stamp and die set from PTI and SSS balloons die (larger balloon) , went with rainbow colors to add a festive feel to the card. I hope you will join in the fun and play along with us. Thanks for stopping by today.

The Holly and Ivy #41

Hello! Only a few more days until Thanksgiving. Who's ready to mail out their Christmas cards? ME!
It has helped so much to create cards all year long. I love snowmen , so this fun die from MFT was a must have for me.  I think I will try this die with another sentiment for a fun winter themed card in the future. I hope you play along with us. Thanks for stopping by today.

CC&S #299

Hello! I'm back with a card for this week's color challenge. Don't these colors scream Christmas to you? They did to me.I used a PTI stamp called botanical blocks IV.  I am very picky about my "Holly" stamps. My older sister's name was Holly, she was born on Christmas. This is my 23rd Christmas since her passing, still miss her. I hope you will play along with us. Thanks for stopping by.

Santa

Hello! I've been really busy today and hardly had a moment to sit down. I've excited to play with this die from Spellbinders. Who doesn't love Santa? I can't get enough Santa stamps or dies. My mom loves Santa and has her whole tree decorated with Santa ornaments. I'll save this one for her. I'm playing along with the following challenges: Color Throw down and CAS Christmas card challenge. Thanks for stopping by today.

CC&S #298

Greetings to all ! I'm sharing my card for this week's sketch challenge. While making this card I discovered that I only have 1 "Let it snow" sentiment . You read that correctly, only 1. No die cuts either. I must correct this TODAY!!!! SO as soon as I finish this post I will be shopping !!! I have 6 snowflake dies, 3 snowman dies , 4 snowflakes stamp/die combo, and 12 snowman stamp and stamp die combo. How did I not notice this yet? So I used the funky snowflake die from SSS and some fun patterned paper I've been hoarding. If you check back on a previous post you can see how I used the negative space and the paper for a different card. I really loved the look of the grey for this. I'm going to have to get more of that paper from Hobby Lobby. I hope you will play along too. Also playing along with Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge. Thanks for stopping by today.

Freshly made sketch #362

Hello! Happy Sunday to you. I don't like to waste any grey paper ever. Grey is my most favorite color paper to craft with, I try to use it on as many cards as I can. So when creating a card for one of my DT's I die cut a snowflake and for this card I used the negative space , die cut it a stitched rectangle and used the same patterned paper as my other card (watch for that one one Tuesday). I love how this turned out. Now if only Hobby Lobby was open so I could go get more of that patterned paper. Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting.

The Holly and Ivy #40

Hello! I hope you are all doing well this Tuesday. New month, means we are getting closer to Christmas. I have been busy getting wish lists from my kids and nieces and nephews. I like to be ready before Thanksgiving. I'm decorating for Thanksgiving today, and cleaning a bit. My cards are almost ready to send out. For this card I used SSS Funky snowflake and Big scripty greetings. For the background I used some blue and green alcohol inks, I like to have a couple of cards with fun colors for Christmas. I hope you will play along with our anything goes challenge.

CC&S #297

Hello! I'm back with this really simple card for this week's color challenge. I have extra busy lately with my mom, happy to report she is finally home. If you follow me, you might remember she has had more than her share of health issues lately . So simple cards are working best for me right now. I grabbed the paper in this week's colors and sat down to think about what to do with them , the thanks die was on my desk. It sort of spoke to me. I hope you play along with us . Thanks for stopping by today.

CC&S #296

Hello! I'm back with a fun card to share for our double challenge. I've been working on holiday cards recently, and have enjoyed playing with this die set. I chose to flip the sketch  to allow me  more room . I adore snowman , so this die was a must have for me. I've been trying to craft a bit everyday to relieve a bit of stress, my mom is still in the hospital recovering from her stroke. She is getting much better. Thanks for stopping in today.

The Holly and Ivy #38

Hello! I'm plugging along with my Christmas cards. I have recently purchased a few stand alone Christmas dies and wanted to play with those.  I love snowmen , I have 1 whole Christmas tree just of snowmen. I plan to make a few different versions with this die. It has been wonderful to be a bit ahead this year with my holiday cards and shopping. Please join us for our "anything goes challenge". Thanks for stopping by today.

CC&S #295

Hello! It's been another very stressful week for me and I was happy to be able to have a few minutes to create. If you follow me, you know my mom has been having some health issues recently, well this week she suffered a small stroke. She is doing a bit better now, but it was pretty scary for a couple of days. I am extremely close with my mom, I talk to her twice a day , every day. So this has been very hard for me. I feel like I threw this card together too quickly. I used some scraps left from last weeks card, a snowflake die from SSS and a few sequins to finish it off. Now off to sleep. Thanks for stopping by today.

CC&S #294

Hello! I'm popping in to share my card for this week's color challenge. Patricia picked these colors because October is breast cancer awareness month, so I had to use the pink ribbon. I currently don't have any friends fighting the disease, so I'll save it. I've had a stressful few weeks with my mom, she had foot surgery, had lots of extra bleeding after the surgery, developed C-diff from the antibiotics, and then her husband (who had a brain injury some years ago) had a grand maul seizure. So I've had to call the ambulance twice in less than a week for her and stepfather. I've been extra cranky! and then today 5 coworkers called off. It was a mess, I came home and put on my pj's and will be in bed as soon as I finish this post. Sorry for the whining... thanks for visiting me today.

CC&S #292

Hello! I'm back hosting one more challenge for CC&S. I chose one of my go to color combos, if you follow me you my have noticed I used variations of these colors often. I'm a water sign ,so watery colors really appeal to me. The stamp I used is a SSS/Concord and 9th stamptember exclusive that sold out lightening fast and I was lucky enough to get one . I have already made this guy in several other colors. Thanks for stopping by today.

The Holly and the Ivy #37

Hello! I'm back to share another Christmas card for the Holly and the Ivy anything goes challenge. This was fairly simple to mass produce. The snowflakes are a background stamp from hero arts , and the sentiment is from PTI.  I like to make extra Christmas cards to send to senors in nursing homes, anyone else participate in the lasting hearts card call? I work in eye care, specifically retina... most of my patients are in their 80's -90's. So I know the impact of simple gestures like a card in the mail. Thanks for stopping by today.

CC&S #291

Hello! Fall is just starting here, and my allergies are suffering badly. I spent a good deal of my saturday outdoors watching my boys run. My oldest had his best time ever at his XC meet and my youngest ran his 1st 5k in the evening with my husband and had a great time. I'm sharing my card for this week's sketch challenge. I've enjoyed pushing myself to try new things with my card designs. Thanks for stopping by today.

CC&S #290

Hello! I've had a very busy weekend and need a few days to re-group. My oldest ran in his big cross country meet of the season (2500 runners) on Saturday, so up extremely early to get him on the bus, watched said meet (kid did awesome , personal record) , cleaned for birthday party on Sunday, dinner with HS best friend who was in town for reunion (30yrs, I couldn't go due to meet) , and on Sunday we went to hubby's company picnic and then we hosted a birthday party for my mom. I need a nap. This week promises to be easier, but next week won't be. I'm sharing my card for the CAS Colours and Sketches color challenge .I chose these colors , I've been excited to make fall/Halloween cards. I am excited to see what people come up with, there is always someone who does something unexpected.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Monster Birthday

Hello! I'm popping with a quick share for the SSS Stamptember exclusive Concord and  9th challenge. I was lucky enough to snag one of these adorable stamps before it sold out. I learned after missing one I really really wanted to buy it right when I see it. I colored this and made the splatters using my Zig's. I plan to made a bunch in several different colors . Thanks for stopping by today.

The Holly and The Ivy #36

Hello ! I'm stopping in today to share my card for The Holly and The Ivy's anything goes challenge. I was playing around with my alcohol inks and wanted to create some trees with the piece I made.  This is an older Hampton art stamp/die set, but I love it and use it often. I am feeling good about the Christmas holiday, I have lots of cards completed, a few gifts purchased, and have been saving $5 bills everytime I get one (have a big pile of them now) , so I should ready sooner this year. I've had a crazy day today (writing this monday night) , I work for a retina practice in the professional building of a hospital and there was a CODE Green today...bomb threat. Lots of fun walking all our elderly patient down 4 flights of stairs then across the street, only to find out it was some jerks idea of a joke. Thankfully the weather was good. So now I'm off to bed. Thanks for stopping in to visit my blog today.

CCC&S #289

Hello! I'm back with this week's sketch challenge card. I'm really getting into the Halloween spirit with my card making, anyone else? I've been trying to sort my craft room a bit, attempting to be better organized. I keep finding stamps I forgot about. It's like getting new stuff. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with using this sketch. Thanks for stopping by today.

Tis the season

Good morning! It's a lovely fall morning here, cool breeze, you can hear the leaves on the trees. I've been trying to free hand watercolor lately, I still need practice. I created this for the CAS watercolor challenge. I made one similar last week, but it seemed so plain, so this one I added a few red paint splatters for ornaments and used a red card base. I think this one is more festive. I'm going to try to plant some mums today, so I'm off to work on that. Thanks for stopping by today.

CC&S #288

Hello! I'm popping in to share my card for CC&S, this month I'm hosting the challenges. I have had this Lil' inkers die for awhile now and have been looking for just the right challenge to use it. I water colored a night sky background in 2 of this week's colors and used the 3rd color for the moon. I've been enjoying some crafting time today , the benefits of an extra day off this week. This might be the only day I'm not driving to a kid's meet, or taking one to physical therapy (youngest grew ALOT over the summer and has some growth plate swelling, nothing major) , or helping at their school. The things we do for our kids, it goes by so fast (TOO FAST). Well now back to crafting, thanks for stopping by today.

The Holly and the Ivy #35

Happy Tuesday to you all. I've been really busy with my boys the last week and this week promises to be just as busy. I'm glad to sneak in some me time to craft. I've been working on my water coloring skills recently, always room for improvement. I hand painted the tree ad added a little bit of white paint splattered over the top. The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti. I've been making 2- 4 cards at a time lately so I hope to be ready by Thanksgiving time this year. Thanks for stopping by today.

CC&S #287

Hello! It's been another busy week here. My oldest has had several cross country meets and has a couple this week. We are having unusually hot weather here , so I'm hoping they reschedule the meet this afternoon. My younger son has  been complaining of pain to his heel/ back of the calf, not good for a runner. So we will need to have that looked at , worried he may have to sit out the season. Fingers crossed he doesn't! I did get my phone repaired, YEAH!!! I probably should head to bed early tonight, but I know that won't happen. I'm that Mom that tries to do everything in one day, then burns out and needs to relax. Currently on my 4th load of laundry since coming home from work. I'm popping in to share my card for this week's sketch challenge. Thanks for stopping by today.

CC&S #286

Hello! I should have tiled this post Samantha and the terrible, horrible, no good , very bad day! Yep, one of those days. I had to remake this card last minute, I had stamped and watercolored it the night before and left it to dry, so I could re-stamp it in the morning (yes I have a misti) , only I stamped it wrong( GASP) and had to remake it in a rush to get in in time for the challenge. Then as I was nagging one of my teenagers about getting ready I pulled my phone out to show him the tie and dropped said phone facedown on the tiled floor(NO!!!!!!) shattering the screen (TEARS!) , then traffic was awful to work, coworkers called off, lots of emergency patients , one of who I'm sure will not get their vision back (which is very hard to witness patients being told..more tears ) , headed to appointment to replace broken phone screen to find they didn't have the right color screen,  now it's storming and the power is flickering....so PJ's and bed for me . Thanks for reading about my bad day, hopefully tomorrow is a better one.
