Holiday Blessings

Hello! Stopping by with a card to share for the 1st CAS Christmas Card Challenge "Holly" . I created 2 cards and am sharing them both here. Card 1 made using distress inks to watercolor the Holly image, card 2 I used distress oxide inks to watercolor the image. I'm favoring card 1 because the colors are more vibrant. Thanks for stopping by today

  1. Hi Samantha. LOVE your beautiful holly cards. Such a pretty holly image that looks beautiful in the aperture of your red card front. I agree with favouring the first card ... the colours are brighter and more translucent. The second card is not as bright, but the colour of the holly gives the card an artsy look. Great work! Thanks for sharing both with us at CAS Christmas!

  2. It's so interesting to see how the distress inks and the distress oxide inks work when watercolouring. The holly in the first card looks almost like stained glass. I love the beautiful vibrant shades of green! The red berries echo the red card base and the gold heat-embossed sentiment adds a festive feeling. Thank you for sharing the beauties at CAS Christmas! 4. Both beautiful cards and beautifully coloured, Samantha. I’m a fan of non-traditional cards, but I must admit your first card in the traditional red and green colours is vibrant and stands out more. Thank you for joining us at CAS Christmas Holly challenge. x

  5. Beautiful holly, Samantha! I love the richness of the DI coloring and the more subtle color of the DOX! Both are so pretty framed with the red! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Christmas!
