Cheer up Buttercup

Greetings! finally I have something to post. Truth be told I wasn't feeling inspired, my job stress really got the better of me the last months..... but now that I am not working any longer I can relax and create again. This is something I created for 2 challenges... Make it Monday @ Papertrey Ink and Case Study. How you all have a great nite....Sam ****UPDATE***  4yrs later I am sharing this card again  for  PTI past, present and future challenge. You were asked to share a card you were most proud of. This card sort of tells the story of my life at that time... I had just ended a very stressful job and was seeking new employment . I wasn't feeling very inspired to create ( took a long break after this post) but still found some creative spark. This card was feature in PTI April newsletter... which makes me very proud. Also it's one of my more popular pins .  Happy to report I've been at my new (and much happier) job almost 4 yrs now.

Hello Sunshine! I wish, another gloomy winter day in northwest indiana. We finally got some snow yesterday and it seems people forgot how to drive in it.  I usually shy away from black backgrounds, favoring black as an accent color.... but i enjoyed challenging myself to try something outside my comfort zone. Busy last few days here, as I had my sons in the regional chess tournament, went thrift shopping with hubby(found tons of great books CHEAP for me and the boys) , wardrobe shopping for hubby's new job(after almost 4yrs of unemployment) and mass card making..... Hello, happy monday to you.  I have been so busy with work recently that I've missed several play date challenges. They are my favorites, always a new color combo to try out.  I am a big fan of the black, white and splash of whatever ...... this is my take on this one. Hello!  Just a quick post, getting ready to leave for work... late start today. I was looking through my sentiments stamps( what's left of them since someone took some of them) and didn't see one that jumped out as different from what others had choosen, so I found an image I felt worked well. Hello, hope everyone is having a great tuesday. I'm having a bit of trouble getting back into the crafting after vacation.  I have been super busy with the kids and work, so really need to slow down a bit and de-stress. I created this gift bag for the PAPERTREY INK BlogHop.  I love that snowman die/stamp set . It makes the cutest tags for kids presents. Now off to dairy queen ....pumpkin pie blizzards to celebrate both my boys making the school chess team...way to go Eric and Evan.

Stamp-a-faire Tie dye

Well here it is, my final card /post for the evening.  I really enjoyed all the tutorials, lots of great ideas to try in the future. But there are only so many hours in the day one can stamp..... sadly for this girl it's not 24. sigh! I used water with perfect pearls mixed in to give my card a little shimmer, I like the result. Stamp-a-Faire Homemade Embellishments

I'm back with this card showcasing the homemade embellishment felt bow as shown by Melissa,  I noticed I selected alot of Melissa's ideas....hmm . I really liked how easy this was to do, but the end result looks like it took alot more effort. I will be doing this again, I want to try it with fabric to see if it looks as nice. enjoy, Sam

Hello, I finally finished all my cards for the stamp-a-faire challenges... I know a day late and a dollar short, but yesterday was my anniversary and my birthday, so I had to spend some time with the hubby.  This is a card set using the fill-able frames die as shown by Melissa  . It has ten cards in the box . My co-workers will love this tomorrow... I take in all my cards I make for various challenges to work and sell them dirt cheap... there is no way I could ever use them all. more posts to follow... Sam

It called for you to use strips of paper.  I enjoyed digging through all my scraps to put this together... so much that I made 3 more similar to it. I t was a great way to clear out some of my stash. Hello, last post tonight... I promise. I finally found the time between the laundry to post all my cards this week. Baseball is almost over and I will be back to my regular schedule. This is my card for this week's "Make it Monday" challenge @ Papertrey Ink. I opited to do a one layer to try to showcase the stamping more. Love this stamp set... who am I kidding I love ALL PTI stamp sets, the ink , ribbon and paper also. I am horribly addicted to there products.. hid my debit card on the 15th, hehe. Hello, I finally got a little time to create this weeekend. Much needed, between the long hours I've been putting in at work and having 2 boys playing little league a mom rarely gets any "me time". This is my take on the Cas-ual friday"s chalenge this week "pretty in pink".  I wanted the pink to really stand out, so the paring with aqua seemed to make it pop the most to me.
