Color throw down #467

Hello ! It's been a busy weekend for me. My youngest turned 13, so we took him to dinner friday night, he had friends over saturday, and today we had family for his birthday celebration. I made way too much fun, and stressed about the cleanliness of my house WAY too much.  So now that it's super clean after all the celebration I might relax a bit. So i'm taking time to play along with some challenges I enjoy, 1st up is the Color Throw Down challenge. I really liked the colors for this week's challenge and haven't had much time to play along lately. Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome back. This week the challenge at Christmas Card challenge called for you to use a cat .....just so you know I don't like cats at all. I had to go buy this stamp as I had nothing on hand. I made this as a mini-card to try something different. I hope you will join us, I'm sure someone out there likes cats more than I do and will love this theme. LOL!

Blog Hop for Dawn

Hello Lovely! One of my favorite sentiments from the Raspberry suite line , paired with my favorite floral stamp in Raspberry fizz of course. I tried to make a true "Dawn" card to send to her. I love that the stamping community has decided to do this for her. Dawn is one of my 1st blogs I started following when I began my card making journey. I was introduced to PTI through her blog... as thus the addiction began. I hope lots of crafters send their cards to her. Mine is going in the mail tonight. Thanks to Nichole for hosting this hop.

Hello! I'm hiding in my basement away from loud 13yr old boys. They have already ate everything I set out and then some, so I will take some time to myself to craft. I used some alcohol inks for my background, not sure if you should emboss over Yupo paper, but I did . I used snowflake flurry from MFT and the Peace die is an Essentials by Ellen. Simply Create challenge #133

Hello! I'm back with a card to share for the Simply Create Too challenge. This month our theme is CAS. I used some alcohol ink to make the ombre background and then die cut the sentiment, and finally I added some silver washi tape to complete this card. I could see myself re-creaqting this with different sentiments and colors. That is the nice thing about CAS cards, they easily lend themselves to several occasions. I hope you will join us. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with. Now off to celebrate my "baby's" 13th birthday.

Hello! I'm back with a card to share for this week's double challenge. I am not sure how I feel about this card, I feel like it needs something. I might still be in my funk?Hopefully I can get out of that before next month or we will have problems.  I spent time with mom today , we went to the cemetery to see my sister ( Halloween will be 22yrs ) , then we had lunch at our favorite spot and did some treasure hunting.I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for this challenge. 

October challenge

Hello, I'm last minute with my card for the October challenge at The Ton's challenge blog. I just picked up this stamp and was waiting for it to arrive so I could play along. I can see myself using this stamp lots. I blended some distress oxide for the background, I wanted something subtle so not to take away from the tea cup . Did you know I collect teacups and saucers? Well now you do .I have a bunch , I have to get a bigger china cabinet for them all. I might even have one similar to this stamp. Thanks for stopping by.

PTI October blog hop

Hello! I was so happy to discover my new stamps on the porch when I got home from work today, just in time for the blog hop too. I watercolored the background like one of the inspiration images , and stamped my sentiment on velum. I ended up going over my watercolor with a little distress oxide to make it more visible after the velum was placed on top. I have several relatives that will enjoy receiving a Christmas card with this sentiment on it, so I plan to make several using this sentiment. I'm really enjoying the year of Psalms series, I hope it goes for a couple years. Well off to hop along and check out what everyone else created. Thanks for visiting.

Hello! It's been a crazy couple of days for me. My mom is out of town for a week, leaving me to care for her husband who is disabled from a brain injury , trying to get my kids schedules straight( she is better at it than me) , plus hubby has been having issues with his shoulder and he is not sleeping well (hence I'm not either) . I completely forgot to link my card to the challenge blog for Christmas Card Challenges. I hope my fellow DT girls forgive me. I love this sentiment in gold, so it was perfect for this challenge. I think i used the same sentiment for the last challenge, OOPS! I hope you will play along with us this week.

Hello! I'm back with a fun card to share for this week's sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches. I opted to flip the sketch , I need to replenish my birthday card supply. I a birthday stamp from SSS and my zig markers to watercolor the balloons.I know this isn't my usual work. I haven't been crafting much recently because I was really feeling bad about my job change. I left a job I had enjoyed (I felt I had to because of some things going on in the office) , took a new job closer to home , only to find out they told me things that were not true to get me to come there and they had a scary turn over, so I was very upset by all of this. I have worked in this field over 25 years and felt very lost. I have since quit the new job, YEAH! I went back to the practice I used to work for , but in a different office closer to home. I work with different doctors, different co-workers and a different boss. It is so much better, but I'm not myself yet. Job stress isn't for the faint of heart. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Sunday to you. I was excited by this week's inspiration photo. My good friend loves purple, so I always make her a special purple Christmas card every year...Here it is. I used a stamp for MFT for the snowflakes, sentiment is one I picked up from a de-stash... so I have no clue who it's by. Have you shopped a de-stash yet? I love them . I have a couple of ladies I follow on Instagram that de-stash on a regular basis. If fact all of the stamps I used today are de-stash stamps. It helps my add to my supplies without breaking the bank. Hello! I'm back with a card to share for the CC&S color challenge. I was thinking of making a fall card, since these colors are perfect for fall. But I decided that there might be a lot of fall cards, so why not make something different. I'm out of sympathy cards right now, so I made a few using this layout /stamp/die . I love how these flowers look in the pumpkin color, you don't see enough of that color in flowers. I hope you have a great tuesday.

Hello, happy Sunday to you all. This challenge's theme had me digging thru my supplies for just the right stamp. I noticed I need a few more religious sentiments and nativity images. There are some really good ones out there, I plan to pick up a couple. You can never have enough Christmas sentiments. I used a sentiment from PTI and the image is Hero arts. Hello, welcome back. I'm still trying to adjust to the new job, not really sure I like it. But that's a story for another time. I plan to make most of my upcoming challenge cards birthday cards, as I'm completely out.... how does that happen? This week's colors were fun to use on this stamp. It's from the Ton stamps. Hello, It's Tuesday so that means I have a card to share for CAS Colours and Sketches weekly challenge. I played around with a few ideas for this sketch before settling on this card. I've have this stamp for months and really wanted to make fall cards. I have been playing along with the 30day coloring challenge and colored these images the other night , but wasn't feeling good so I didn't get around to my card until today. Hello, welcome back. I'm sharing another card for the Christmas Card Challenge DT. This time the theme is "coookies " ..yum ! Oh wait I gave up sugar (yep I'm nuts , and a bit crabby ) so  this is the only cookies  I can have right now. It's getting closer to Christmas now, so I've started doubling up on my Holiday cards. Hello! Today I start my new job, not gonna lie I'm nervous. When I interviewed I noticed all the twenty somethings working there.... I'm old enough to be their mother. Hopefully they don't notice. I'm looking forward to having more time after work ( short commute) .I wonder what they will think of my ink stained fingers? This week's colors shouted Halloween to me right away. I inked my background and hills with distress oxides , I embossed the pumpkins, colored them with Zig markers and fussy cut them out. I am not the best fussy cutter. I used a black marker on the edges to hide that. I'm left handed , so I have a hard time with cutting. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello! Happy September 1st! Looking forward to fall colors and weather. I'm sharing my DT card for Simply Create Too's monthly challenge. This month our theme is Ribbon and buttons. I wanted to create something for fall , so I used orange buttons for pumpkins. I hope you will play along , I'd love to see what you can come up with.

I'm back again with my other leather look card to share. I am not as happy with how this one turned out. I had a hard time getting it to flatten out. I like how the "leather " piece turned out, but when I placed it on the card base it just made the base curl inward. I will try this again to see what I did wrong. Thanks for visiting me.

Hello, Trying to share my cards for SAF before time runs out. I wanted to make more, but between working and kids I didn't have enough time. I loved how the paper turned out on this card, but I wish I had used black ink. I feel like it is hard to see the sentiment. I used the same technique for the flowers. Hoping to sneak in another card or 2 before the deadline.

Greetings ! Only a few more days left at my current job, ready for something new. I've been so busy training people to take over some of my duties that the 2 weeks is flying by. Greetings ! I'm stopping in to share my DT card for Christmas Card Challenges. Our theme this challenge is colorful glass ornaments . I had a few of these SSS watercolor panels left from last Christmas , I was happy to find I hadn't colored this one. It fits this challenge perfectly. Hello ! It's been an eventful week since I last posted. Follow up with rheumatologist went better than expected, might be a false positive (fingers crossed ) , weight loss -14 lbs, and I got a new job closer to home.  So lots to celebrate here. I watercolored my 3 panels instead of using paper... but then I watercolor everything these days. I hope no one minds the wonky shapes, i kind of like it this way. More organic looking. I hope you will play along , I love seeing other crafters take of sketches.

Hello! I hope your Tuesday is going well. I've been busy getting the boys ready to go back to school. My hubby took them camping this weekend , so I had plenty of time to sort over their stuff, purge out , and clean . I am planning to re-organize my craft area this weekend. I started already, I picked up one of those 3 tiered rolling carts to organize the tools i use the most. I came across a few stamps I forgot I had, Like this lovely floral. This might be one of my favorite sketches for CAS Colours and Sketches. I can see myself using this one again soon. Be back soon.

Hello! It's tuesday again and you know what that means ? I have a card to share for the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge. I struggled with this card alot. I've been a bit detached from my crafting lately, I recently found out (on my birthday, how crappy is that? ) that I have a rare disease . I currently have very mild symptoms. So hubby decided we should drastically change our diets... no dairy, no caffeine, no sugar, no wheat, no corn.... so as of now I'm a rabbit. So I'm a bit off. If you know me you know I loved my diet pepsi. But I will get thru this without it. I will keep crafting, it keeps me sane. I hope to see you soon.

Happy Sunday to you. I'm enjoying the last few weeks until school begins again with my boys. I should start school shopping , but with the way they are growing lately nothing would fit by then . Hello! I'm back to share another card for the Christmas Card Challenge. When I saw the inspiration image I immediately thought of using the tree image from the Tim Holtz stamptember holiday set. Greetings from Niagara Falls. That is where I'll be when this posts. I was way over due for vacation. I have been so scattered lately. When making this card, I had it all finished then I noticed I put it together wrong, it was upside down. Hopefully I will come home refreshed .Growing up I visited the falls numerous times, my grandfather lived in buffalo. I have wanted my boys to see it for sometime now.
